February Update
Phew, it’s been a busy month! Started off with one of the more challenging (and rewarding) prints I’ve worked on so far. “Sterndeuter” started out with a figure drawing I had done a while back. While flipping through an old sketchbook, I rediscovered that drawing and knew that I wanted to do some sort of print with it. Eventually settling on the three layer reduction that you see here. Definitely some things I would’ve done differently if I could go again (around 30+ prints didn’t make the edition) but overall I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I’m excited to be working with woodcuts again!
After “Sterndeuter,” I moved on to something a bit simpler (layer-wise at least) with “Isn’t This What You Wanted?” I really love the contrast that black and white prints have, and it was great getting a chance to do some more detailed designs in woodcut. Definitely want to explore some more buildings and architecture in some future works.
Thanks for reading, I’ll be back next month with another update!
