Tristan Boyar grew up in Helena, MT before moving to Missoula in 2017 with his husband Dante. He graduated from the University of Montana in 2023 with B.A.s in Art and German. Shortly after graduation, Tristan started The Gastropod Press in the basement of the Masonic Temple building on Broadway, alongside his trusty (albeit often faulty) printing press Elvis Pressley.

Fascinated with mechanical and technical processes his whole life, Tristan felt naturally inclined to explore printmaking as a medium. His work is inspired by architectural and human forms, the natural world, and the immense artistic energy that seems to swirl around in the Missoula Valley.
